ECG & Holter Monitoring Pathway

This pathway combines two important heart rhythm tests in one convenient visit.

First, an ECG (electrocardiogram) records your heart’s rhythm in the clinic. This quick, painless test helps detect electrical abnormalities such as arrhythmias.

Next, a Holter monitor is connected — a small wearable device that continuously tracks your heart rhythm during normal activity for 24–72 hours (or up to 14 days if requested), capturing irregularities that may not appear during a brief ECG.

Duration: ~10–20 minutes in the clinic for setup.
Preparation:

  • Shower before your appointment (device must stay dry once applied)
  • Avoid lotions, oils, or creams on the chest
  • Wear a loose shirt for easy access
  • Bring your medication list

After your visit:
You will leave wearing the monitor and return it on your scheduled date. Results are analyzed and sent to your family doctor for review.

Echo & Holter Pathway

This pathway provides a complete assessment of both the structure and rhythm of the heart.

An echocardiogram is an ultrasound scan that shows how your heart muscle and valves are functioning in real time.

A Holter monitor is then applied to track your heart’s rhythm during daily activity over 24 hours or longer.

Duration: ~45–60 minutes for the full visit.
Preparation:
Shower before the appointment (device must stay dry afterward)

Avoid chest lotions for best electrode adhesion

Bring a full medication list

After your visit:
You will go home wearing the Holter monitor and return it as instructed. Your results are interpreted by a cardiologist and shared with your referring doctor.
